Ramayana Chanting

Ramayna is the most powerful epic which influences the culture of Indian tradition and the life of the people a lot. It can deeply touch and purify the human mind. Each character in Ramayana trains us with the powerful lessons of life. Rama is the embodiment of Dharma. He is so simple, truthful and humble also. He faces all the challenges of life with patience and courage. This is the personality Rama wishes to teach us. Sita is the manifestation of sacrifice. Sita’s love and dedication for Rama is constant. Lakshmana and Bharatha are the best examples for divine fellow members. Hanuman represents the symbol of ideal devotion. The character of Ravana shows the arrogant and proud nature of men. He uses all his good qualities in an unusual way for destroying human kind and thus leads to the whole destruction of his life, family and Nation. In this epic “killing of Ravana” means the removal of negative qualities from our inner mind.

The month of Karkkidakam is often referred as the month of extreme shortage. A shade of discontent will make its triumph due to these factors. Ramayana chanting during this time is considered as a favorable practice that will mend all the discomforts and agony both to the individuals and community. A supreme spiritual solace can be attained through the habitual and devoted reading of Ramayana during the 31 days of Karkkidakam. Adhyatma Ramayanam Kilippatuu is recited in homes and temples during the month of Karkkidakam. As part of this we also started the chanting of Ramaya in our school. The school leader and house captains inaugurated the ceremony and Remya M Menon of XII STD chanted the first few lines of this great epic.
